Day 1,2 and 3

When arriving to a whole new country, I kept telling myself that everything will be great. As we flew into the Airport in Costa Rica I noticed many local people watching the planes fly in from many different parts of the world. On our first night in Costa Rica, we stayed at a quaint little hotel in San Jose. We had dinner there at the restaurant which was adjacent to the hotel, the food was very traditional and was also written all in Spanish which made it difficult for me and the others who are part of the program to read. The next morning we ate breakfast and set off for San Vito. The route we took was very lush and green with huge trees which seemed to over take the road. The road that we were on was very narrow and frankly scary to drive on but we made it in one piece to the biological center in San Vito. As we arrived to the Station we were given instructions to settle in our dorms and get ready for dinner which happen to be at 6pm. We each got settled and gathered at the dining hall. I wasn't quite ready to eat or get settled in due to the fact I was running off of 8 hours of sleep. As the night came to a close I went back to my room, grabbed my clean clothes and dashed for the showers, The warm water hitting my back was the best thing after spending hours on a bus. Although the highlight on the drive was being able to walk up to the highest mountain range which is at 10,000 feet.
